1. “Jharokha” is a pan-India program organized by the Ministry of Culture.
◉ To commemorate traditional Indian handicrafts, handlooms, and art & culture, the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Textiles are hosting a program called “Jharokha-Compendium of Indian handicrafts/ handloom, art, and culture.”
◉ To begin, the first event in this series will be held at Rani Kamlapati Railway Station in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, on March 8, 2022, which also happens to be International Women’s Day.
2. At Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu’s Chief Minister inaugurated India’s largest floating solar power facility.
◉ M K Stalin, the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, inaugurated India’s largest floating solar power plant, which cost Rs 150.4 crores to build. The floating plant would offer clean energy at the Southern Petrochemicals Industries Corporation Limited (SPIC) factory in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu.
◉ Its goal is to deliver environmentally sustainable energy generation while also lowering carbon emissions.
3. The ‘Kaushalya Matritva Yojana’ was introduced by the Chhattisgarh government.
◉ Bhupesh Baghel, the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, launched the ‘Kaushalya Matritva Yojana’ in Raipur, handing out Rs 5,000 cheques to five women beneficiaries for safe motherhood practices.

4. The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) has barred Russian and Belarussian competitors from competing in the 2022 Winter Paralympics in Beijing.
◉ Due to the war in Ukraine, the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) has barred athletes from the Russian Paralympic Committee (RPC) and the National Paralympic Committee (NPC) of Belarus (83 athletes from Russia and Belarus who hosted troops for Moscow’s attack) from competing in the Beijing 2022 Winter Paralympics.
◉ The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) previously announced that competitors from both countries will be permitted to compete as neutrals in the games. The IPC joins a long list of athletic groups, including FIFA, UEFA, and others, in excluding Russians and Belarusians from participating in sports such as football, track and field, basketball, and hockey.
5. Iran successfully launched a second military satellite in a test flight. Noor-2
◉ The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of Iran successfully launched Noor-2, a military satellite, into orbit at a distance of 500 kilometers (311 miles).

◉ For the financial years 2021-22 to 2025-26, the Central Government has approved the continuance of the Swatantrata Sainik Samman Yojana (SSSY). SSSY has a total budget of Rs 3,274.87 crores.
◉ SSSY provides a pension and other financial benefits to freedom warriors and their qualified dependents until 2025-26. The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), which is led by Union Minister Amit Shah, has submitted a proposal to continue the SSSY.
8. Himachal Pradesh’s Chief Minister presented a budget of Rs 51,365 crores for the fiscal year 2022-23.

9. The Reserve Bank of India has launched UPI123pay for feature phones and DigiSaathi 2022.
◉ The Reserve Bank of India has introduced two digital payment programs. The first is UPI123pay, which allows users to make UPI payments on feature phones, and the second is “DigiSaathi,” a 24-hour helpline for digital payments.
◉ Users of feature phones will be able to use Unified Interface Payments (UPI) to make payments with the UPI123pay. UPI123 pay now provides users of feature phones with four mediums/options for making UPI payments.
