1. The state of Chhattisgarh will gain its fourth Tiger Reserve.
- On October 5, 2021, the National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) recognised the merged portions of the Guru Ghasidas National Park and Tamor Pingla Wildlife Sanctuary in Chhattisgarh as a Tiger Reserve.
- After the Udanti-Sitanadi, Achanakmar, and Indravati Reserves, this is Chhattisgarh’s fourth Tiger Reserve.
2. The Adani Group has taken over the operation of Guwahati’s Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport.
- On October 8, 2021, the Airports Authority of India (AAI) handed over operational authority of Guwahati’s Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport to Adani Group.
- The Adani Group will now be in charge of the airport’s operations, management, and development.
3. Under the UDAN plan, Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia inaugurates the greenfield Sindhudurg airport in Maharashtra.
- Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, Union Minister of Civil Aviation, virtually inaugurated the new Sindhudurg airport in Maharashtra recently, as part of the Government of India’s RCS-UDAN (Regional Connectivity Plan – Ude Desh Ka Aam Naagrik) scheme.
- The first flight from the airport, from Sindhudurg to Mumbai, was also flagged off by the minister.
4. India has joined the High Ambition Coalition for Nature and People (HAC) for the first time.
- On October 7, 2021, India became a member of the High Ambition Coalition (HAC) for Nature and People.
- HAC is a coalition of over 70 countries advocating for the adoption of the global goal of protecting at least 30% of the world’s land and ocean by 2030 (3030 target).

5. 136 countries sign a historic agreement to levy a minimum of 15% corporate tax on large multinational corporations.
- A coalition of 136 countries has signed a groundbreaking worldwide convention requiring large multinational corporations to pay a corporate tax rate of at least 15%.
- The agreement represents a revolution in tax policy because it not only establishes a minimum corporation tax rate, but it also requires businesses to pay taxes where they operate, not simply where their headquarters are.

6. The theme for the fourth cohort of the Regulatory Sandbox is ‘Prevention and Mitigation of Financial Frauds,’ according to the RBI.
- The theme for the Fourth Cohort of the Regulatory Sandbox has been revealed by the Reserve Bank of India. “Prevention and Mitigation of Financial Frauds” is the theme.
- Prior to this, the RBI had already launched three Regulatory Sandbox cohorts.
7. India’s GDP growth is expected to be 7.8% in FY23, according to the RBI.
- The Reserve Bank of India projected India’s GDP growth rate for 2022-23 (FY23) at 7.8% in its Monetary Policy Report – October 2021.

8. PNB launches the “6S Campaign” as part of the Indian government’s customer outreach campaign.
- The Government of India has launched “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav” for various outreach programmes on financial services, with the central topic of “Janta Se Jodna,” in honour of India’s 75th anniversary of independence.
- In support of the aforementioned government endeavour, Punjab National Bank, the country’s second largest public sector bank, has launched a “6S Campaign” that includes various initiatives such as Swabhiman, Samruddhi, Sampark and Shikhar, Sankalp and Swagat.

9. For FY22, the FICCI predicts a 9.1% increase in GDP.
