1. Prime Minister Narendra Modi dedicates the Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh University in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh.
- On September 14, 2021, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi lay the foundation stone for Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh State University in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh.
- The institution is being built in memory and honour of Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh, a well-known Jat figure who was a renowned independence warrior, educator, and social reformer.
2. Every DefExpo, an India–Africa Defense Dialogue will be organised.
- The Indian government has proposed that the India-Africa Defence Dialogue be made a regular event on the sidelines of the biennial DefExpo military exhibition.
- In February 2020, the first India-Africa Defence Ministers Conclave (IADMC) was held at DefExpo in Lucknow.

4. The RBI has announced the start of the third cohort of the Regulatory Sandbox, with the theme of ‘MSME Lending.’
- The theme for the Third Cohort of the Regulatory Sandbox (RS) has been declared as ‘MSME Lending’ by the Reserve Bank of India. From October 1, 2021, through November 14, 2021, applications for the Third Cohort will be accepted.
5. Unified Payments Interface and PayNow, two fast payment systems in India and Singapore, will be linked.
- The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) have announced an initiative to link their respective quick payment systems, known as the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) and PayNow.
- Users of either of the two quick payment systems would be able to move funds from India to Singapore and vice versa as a result of the connectivity. The link is expected to be operational by July 2022.
6. DBS Bank and SWIFT have teamed up to offer real-time cross-border payment tracking.
- In collaboration with SWIFT Global Payments Innovation, DBS Bank has launched real-time online tracking for cross-border payments for its business clients (GPI).
- The service is available through DBS IDEAL, the bank’s corporate online banking platform.
7. In Delhi, Paytm Payments Bank introduces India’s first FASTag-based metro parking facility.
- In collaboration with the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation, Paytm Payments Bank Ltd (PPBL) has established India’s first FASTag-based metro parking facility at the Kashmere Gate metro station (DMRC)
- Paytm Payments Bank will serve as the acquiring bank for any FASTag-based transactions involving vehicles with a valid FASTag sticker.

- Pawan Kumar Goenka, a former managing director of Mahindra & Mahindra, has been named Chairperson of the Indian National Space Promotion Authorization Centre (In-SPACe), the country’s space sector regulator.
- IN-SPACe is an independent nodal agency under ISRO’s Department of Space (DOS) that was established in 2020 to allow both public and private companies in India to participate in space operations like as developing launch vehicles and satellites and using DOS-owned facilities to produce them.

- Susanna Clarke, an English author, has won the Women’s Prize for Fiction 2021 for her second novel, “Piranesi.”
- The Women’s Prize for Fiction is one of the most renowned literary awards in the United Kingdom. It has been given to a female author of any nationality for the finest original full-length novel produced in English every year since 1996.
