1. The Defense Ministry has announced three new projects aimed at assisting ex-servicemen and their families.
- On the occasion of Armed Forces Veterans Day, which is observed every year on January 14th, the Defense Ministry introduced three new programmes aimed at assisting ex-servicemen and their families.
- The Department of Ex-Servicemen Benefit has allocated 320 crore rupees to the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund for the welfare of veterans and their families, according to Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. Over one lakh 66 thousand ex-wards servicemen’s and widows will gain from this.
2. R-Day celebrations will commence every year on January 23 and will include Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose’s birth anniversary.
- The Republic Day celebrations will henceforth begin on the 23rd of January, rather than the 24th, every year.
- The decision was made to incorporate the birth anniversary of liberation warrior Subash Chandra Bose, according to Government of India officials. The birth anniversary of Subhas Chandra Bose is known as Parakram Divas in India.

3. The RBI has released the Annual Report of Ombudsman Schemes for the years 2020-21.
- The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has published the Annual Report of the Ombudsman Schemes for the nine-month period of 2020-21. (July 1, 2020- March 31, 2021).
- The volume of complaints received climbed by 22.27 percent on an annualised basis, according to the study, with BOS accounting for the majority of the rise.
4. Paytm Payments Bank tops the UPI recipient list, while SBI was the largest remitter in December.
- According to data supplied by the National Payments Corporation of India, Paytm Payments Bank was the largest receiver of UPI funds in December, with 926.17 million transactions, while public sector bank SBI was the largest remitter (NPCI).
- Paytm Payments Bank Ltd (PPBL) claims to be the country’s first beneficiary bank to reach the milestone of 926 million UPI transactions in a single month.
5. Indifi and GPay have teamed up to provide SMEs with immediate digital credit.
