1. PM Narendra Modi dedicates seven new defence public sector undertakings to the nation.
- On October 15, 2021, Prime Minister Narendra Modi dedicated seven new Defence PSUs formed out of OFBs to the country.
- Following the collapse of the 200-year-old Ordnance Factory Board (OFB) on October 1, 2021, these 7 new firms were founded.
2. At VGU Jaipur, India’s first Atal Community Innovation Center was unveiled.
- Vivekananda Global University (VGU) in Jaipur has opened India’s first Atal Community Innovation Center (ACIC).
- It is the country’s first centre, established by the Indian government’s Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) and NITI Aayog.
3. Hunar Haats will host Vishwakarma Vatika.
- The Indian government has planned to establish a “Vishwakarma Vatika” at each “Hunar Haats” to safeguard, maintain, and promote India’s beautiful heritage of centuries-old artisans’ and craftsmen’s talents.
- From October 16 to 25, 2021, the inaugural “Vishwakarma Vatika” will be held in “Hunar Haat” in Rampur, Uttar Pradesh.
4. Anurag Thakur, a Union Minister, has launched the MyParkings App.
- On October 14, 2021, Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Shri Anurag Singh Thakur launched the ‘MyParkings’ app.
- Broadcast Engineering Consultants India Limited (BECIL) and South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) collaborated on an IoT-enabled app to digitise all authorised parking inside SDMC municipal limits.
5. BPCL introduces an automated fueling system. UFill
- The Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) has launched an automated fueling technology dubbed “UFill” to provide consumers with a quick, secure, and smart experience at outlets by giving them control over the fueling process.
- Customers have complete control over Time, Technology, and Transparency in the fueling experience thanks to revolutionary digital technology that eliminates the need to look at zero or final readings or any other offline manual interventions.
6. In Forbes’ World’s Best Employer 2021 Ranking, Reliance Industries comes out on top among Indian corporations; Samsung comes out on top globally.
- The Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Industries ranked first among Indian corporations in Forbes’ World’s Best Employers 2021 rankings.
- Reliance is now ranked 52nd out of 750 worldwide corporations.
7. In the Global Hunger Index 2021, India is ranked 101st.
- In the Global Hunger Index (GHI) 2021, India has plummeted to 101st place out of 116 countries. India was ranked 94th out of 107 countries in the world in 2020.
- India’s GHI score for 2021 is 27.5 out of 50, putting it in the serious category.

8. India and the United States plan to generate $100 billion per year to help developing countries combat climate change.
- On October 14, 2021, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and her American counterpart, Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen, took part in the 8th US-India Economic and Financial Partnership.
- During the discussion, the two governments reaffirmed their resolve to raise $100 billion per year from public and private sector sources for developing countries to combat climate change.
