1. In Hyderabad, India’s first coal-to-methanol facility, built by BHEL, was inaugurated.
- In Hyderabad, India’s first BHEL-built ‘coal to methanol’ (CTM) pilot plant was dedicated to the nation.
- The CTM pilot plant, with a capacity of 0.25 TPD, is now generating methanol with a purity of over 99 percent from high-ash coal.
2. Rojgar Mission will be launched by the Chhattisgarh government to create job opportunities.
- The Rojgar Mission will be launched by the Chhattisgarh government to create jobs. In the next five years, the mission hopes to create 15 lakh job possibilities in the state.
- Experts from IITs, IIITs, and IIMs would be involved in the expedition. The implementing committee is chaired by Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel. The state’s Chief Secretary serves as vice chairman, while the principal secretary serves as Chief Executive Officer.

7. Chefs de Mission for the CWG and Asian Games 2022 have been named Rakesh Anand and Bhupender Singh Bajwa. - Lakshya Sen of India won the Yonex-Sunrise India Open with a surprising straight-game victory over incumbent world champion Loh Kean Yew of Singapore in the men’s singles final, securing his first Super 500 championship.
- Busanan Ongbamrungphan won the women’s singles title in an all-Thailand final, defeating Supanida Katethong 22-20, 19-21, 21-13.

9. Nagaland’s Mon District Administration was awarded the National Award for e-Government (Silver) for the years 2020-21.
- Mon District Administration received the National Award for e-Governance 2020-21 (Silver) recently.
- The prize was given out at the 24th National Conference on e-Government in Washington, D.C. The Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances is in charge of presenting it (DARPG). A trophy, certificate, and a cash prize of Rs. 1 lakh are included.
10. The Government of India has announced the National Start-up Awards for 2021.
- The winners of the “National Start-up Awards 2021” were declared by the Government of India, who honoured 46 start-ups for their contributions in their various industries.
- During the occasion, the government also presented the prize to an incubator and an accelerator. The National Start-up Awards were held for the second time this year.
11. Sumit Bhale, a Lavni artist, won a gold award at the Dubai International Folk Art Festival.
- Sumit Bhale of Fulbari taluka, a young Lavni artist from Maharashtra, has earned a gold award at the International Folk Art Festival in Dubai.
- Lavani is a Maharashtra-based music genre that combines traditional singing and dance, particularly when performed to the sounds of the Dholki, a percussion instrument.

13. Pandit Birju Maharaj, the master of Kathak, has died.
- Pandit Birju Maharaj (Brij Mohan Nath Mishra), a legendary Kathak dancer, died at the age of 83.
- He was affectionately known as Pandit-ji or Maharaj-ji by his pupils and legions of followers and was one of India’s best-known artistes. He was a winner of the country’s second-highest civilian award, Padma Vibhushan.
14. Former Japanese Prime Minister Toshiki Kaifu has died.
- Toshiki Kaifu, the former Prime Minister of Japan, died in Japan at the age of 91. From 1989 to 1991, he was Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.
- In 1991, he is credited with dispatching the Maritime Self-Defense Force to the Persian Gulf.
