1. The 4th ISA General Assembly ends with a pledge to invest USD 1 trillion in solar energy globally by 2030.
- The 4th General Assembly of the multilateral organisation International Solar Alliance (ISA) ended with member countries agreeing to invest USD 1 trillion in solar energy globally by 2030.
- From October 18 to 21, 2021, the ISA General Assembly was held virtually.
2. In the WJP Rule of Law Index 2021, India is ranked 79th; Denmark is ranked first.
- The World Justice Project (WJP) Rule of Law Index 2021, the world’s foremost source for original and independent statistics on the rule of law, has India rated 79th out of 139 countries.
- The ranking was topped by Denmark, which was followed by Norway and Finland.

- With effect from October 25, 2021, the Sports Authority of India (SAI) has appointed Commodore PK Garg as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Target Olympic Podium Scheme (TOPS).
- Commander Rajesh Rajagopalan, who held the position from 2018 till the Tokyo Olympics, will be replaced by Commodore Garg.
