1. The DRDO successfully flight-tests the ‘ABHYAS’ High-Speed Expendable Aerial Target.
- On October 22, 2021, the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) successfully flight-tested the High-speed Expendable Aerial Target (HEAT)- ABHYAS from the Integrated Test Range (ITR) in Chandipur, Odisha, off the coast of the Bay of Bengal.
- ABHYAS was planned and developed for the Indian Armed Forces by the DRDO’s Aeronautical Development Establishment (ADE) in Bengaluru.
2. The state of Chhattisgarh has launched the “Shri Dhanwantri Generic Medical Store” programme.
- Bhupesh Baghel, the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, has established the ‘Shri Dhanwantri Generic Medical Store,’ which intends to deliver pharmaceuticals to consumers at low and moderate prices.
- Generic drugs will be 50 to 71 percent cheaper at these medical stores under the ‘Shri Dhanwantri Generic Medical Store’ initiative.

3. Pakistan is still on the FATF’s “Grey List,” but three additional countries have been added.
- The Financial Action Task Force (FATF), the global anti-terrorist financing watchdog, has kept Pakistan on its ‘Grey List’ of countries for failing to meet outstanding FATF obligations on time.
- Pakistan has accomplished 30 of the 34 action plan items, leaving only four more to fulfil. FATF handed Pakistan three months in June 2021 to complete the remaining conditions by October

4. For NBFCs, the RBI has introduced Scale Based Regulation (SBR).
- The Reserve Bank of India has implemented a new regulatory framework for NBFCs that is based on a scale (SBR). These regulations will take effect on October 1, 2022.
- RBI has now classified NBFCs into four tiers (or four scales) for regulation under the new Scale Based Regulation (SBR) based on their size, activity, and perceived riskiness. NBFC – Base Layer (NBFC-BL), NBFC – Middle Layer (NBFC-ML), NBFC – Upper Layer (NBFC-UL), and NBFC – Top Layer (NBFC-TL) are the four layers (NBFC-TL).

5. ICRA has named Ramnath Krishnan as its Managing Director and Group CEO.
- The rating agency ICRA has named Ramnath Krishnan as its new Managing Director and Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
- He succeeds N Sivaraman, who resigned with immediate effect on October 23, 2021, claiming personal reasons.
6. Sandra Mason is elected as Barbados’ first female president, succeeding the British Queen as the country’s head of state.
- Barbados has elected Sandra Mason as its first president, as part of its plan to establish a republic and dethrone the United Kingdom’s Queen Elizabeth II.
- Mason, who now serves as the country’s governor-general, will take over as president on November 30, 2021.

7. Martin Scorsese and Istvan Szabo will receive the Satyajit Ray Lifetime Achievement Award from the IFFI.
- The inaugural Satyajit Ray Lifetime Achievement Award for Excellence in Cinema has been given to Hungarian filmmaker Istvan Szabo and Hollywood filmmaker Martin Scorsese.
- The award will be presented at the 52nd International Film Festival of India (IFFI), which will take place in Goa from November 20th to November 28th, 2021.
