1. SAFAR: India’s First Air Quality Forecasting Framework Receives Global Approval
- SAFAR, India’s first official framework for air quality forecasting, has been accepted worldwide, with findings published in the peer-reviewed Elsevier Journal, according to founder project director Dr Gufran Beig.
- The framework, which was created under the Ministry of Earth Sciences and required by the National Clean Air Programme (NCAP), is being used to anticipate air quality in Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, and Ahmedabad.
2. Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation inks MoU with Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying to boost India’s livestock sector.
- Both will collaborate to improve India’s livestock sector in the long run, ensuring the country’s food and nutritional security as well as the economic well-being of small-scale livestock producers.
3. The Ministry of Commerce is commemorating Vanijya Saptah from September 20 to 26.
- As part of the Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav commemoration, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry is observing ‘Vanijya Saptah’ (Trade & Commerce Week) from September 20 to 26, 2021.
- The ministry will host a variety of programmes and events across the country to highlight India as a Rising Economic Power and Green & Swachh SEZs during the week-long celebration.
4. PFRDA to commemorate NPS Diwas on October 1, 2021 The Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) will commemorate National Pension System Diwas on October 1, 2021. (NPS Diwas).
- PFRDA launched the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ campaign to promote pension and retirement planning for a worry-free ‘azad’ retirement. PFRDA is using the hashtag #npsdiwas to promote its campaign on social media.

5. For a mobile-first credit card, Federal Bank has partnered with OneCard.
- Federal Bank and OneCard have established a partnership to create a mobile-first credit card aimed at the country’s young, tech-savvy population.
- It will target young working professionals between the ages of 23 and 35, particularly millennials and Gen Z.
6. For the management of bad loans, the government establishes India Debt Resolution Company Ltd (IDRCL).
- The government has established India Debt Resolution Firm Ltd (IDRCL), an asset management company having a paid-up capital of Rs. 80.5 lakh and an authorised capital of Rs 50 crore.
- To clean up problematic loans, IDRCL would collaborate with the National Asset Reconstruction Company Ltd (NARCL).

7. Flipkart Launches Flipkart Xtra App, Aims To Create Over 4,000 Jobs This Holiday Season Walmart-owned Flipkart announced the launch of a different marketplace model called Flipkart Xtra, which will provide individuals, service agencies, and technicians with flexible income options.
- Flipkart will deliver a quick and seamless onboarding experience to interested individuals through the ‘Flipkart Xtra’ app on Google Play Store.
8. Unicorns Unacademy, CRED, Udaan As a mostly remote reality during the pandemic pushed digital change for enterprises and consumers alike, learning platform Unacademy has led the 2021 LinkedIn Top Startups India list, followed by B2B e-commerce platform Udaan, and fintech firm CRED.
- The annual LinkedIn Top Startups list showcases 25 fresh, rising organisations where India wants to work now, based on the activities of more than 76 million professionals in India on the network.

10. Pankaj Advani triumphs at the IBSF 6-Red Snooker World Cup for his 24th world title.
- Pankaj Advani, a star Indian cueist, won his 24th global title by defeating Pakistan’s Babar Masih in the final of the IBSF 6-Red Snooker World Cup.
- Advani, who won his 11th Asian title last week, dominated the first frame of the final, winning 42-13.

15. YS Dadwal, the former governor of Arunachal Pradesh and a former top officer in Delhi, has died.
- Yudhvir Singh Dadwal, a former Commissioner of the Delhi Police, died at his home in Chhattarpur. He was 70 years old.
- From July 2007 to November 2010, Dadwal, a 1974-batch Indian Police Service officer, served as the 16th police commissioner of Delhi. During his term, the Commonwealth Games were staged in Delhi.
16. Ramanuj Prasad Singh, a former AIR newsreader, has died.
- Ramanuj Prasad Singh, a former All India Radio Hindi Newsreader, died in Gurugram. He was 86 years old when he died.
- From the start, Mr Singh’s rich voice and comfortable reading style attracted him to All India Radio listeners. He worked for AIR for three decades and became well-known among the general public for his news reading.
