1. Mansukh Mandaviya has established a new website and mobile app for the CGHS.

3. India is ranked 85th on the Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) for 2021.
- According to a new report by Berlin, Germany-based non-governmental organisation Transparency International, India’s rank increased one position to 85 among 180 nations in a corruption perception index (CPI) for 2021, but the country’s democratic status remains a source of concern.
- With an overall score of 88, Denmark, Finland, and New Zealand topped the list.

4. The Indian Contingency Fund’s expenditure guidelines have been altered by the Centre.
- The Union government has revised the expenditure guidelines for the India Contingency Fund. Through the Finance Bill, Budget 2021-22 suggested increasing the Contingency Fund of India from Rs 500 crore to Rs 30,000 crore.
- To meet unforeseen expenditures, a sum equal to 40% of the entire Fund corpus must be placed at the disposal of the Secretary, Ministry of Finance (expenditure secretary) under the new rule.
5. The government has approved a draught strategy to merge PMC Bank with Unity Small Finance Bank.
- The government has notified a draught proposal for the merger of Punjab & Maharashtra Cooperative (PMC) Bank and Unity Small Finance Bank, according to the Reserve Bank of India (SFB).
- The merger took effect on January 25, 2022, the date of the scheme’s notice. From this date forward, all PMC Bank branches will operate as Unity SFB branches.
6. In its World Economic Outlook for 2021-22, the IMF lowered India’s economic growth prediction to 9%.
- In its World Economic Outlook released on January 25, 2022, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) predicted that India would grow at 9% in 2021-2022.
- India’s growth prospects were previously assessed at 9.5 percent for the year by the IMF in October 2021. India’s GDP is expected to grow at 7.1 percent in 2022-23, according to the IMF.
7. Swiggy has reached decacorn status, with a market capitalization of $10.7 billion.
- Swiggy, a food-ordering and same-day shopping delivery service, has raised $700 million in a round led by asset management Invesco. Swiggy’s entire market capitalization currently stands at $10.7 billion, making it a decacorn.
- A startup with a valuation of more than $10 billion is known as a decacorn. Swiggy’s current market capitalization is nearly double that of Zomato before the latter’s initial public offering. Prior to its IPO, Zomato was valued at $5.4 billion.
8. Paytm teamed up with Fullerton India to expand digital lending to small businesses.
- Fullerton India and One97 Communications Limited, which owns the Paytm brand, have established a relationship to provide merchant partners and consumers with financing solutions.
- The agreement will allow the two established institutions to use data-driven insights and a broad reach to deliver credit to previously unbanked individuals. They want to work together to develop novel merchant loan products based on consumer payment behaviour and Fullerton’s extensive knowledge of the market.

9. Lucknow Super Giants will be the name of the IPL team from Lucknow.
- Sanjiv Goenka’s (RPSG Group) IPL franchise in Lucknow has been dubbed Lucknow Super Giants ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) mega auction in 2022.
- KL Rahul was named captain of the Lucknow team, which also included Australia all-rounder Marcus Stoinis and leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi.

10. The Param Vishisht Seva Medal has been awarded to Neeraj Chopra.
- President Ram Nath Kovind presented Olympian Neeraj Chopra with the Param Vishisht Seva Medal on the eve of Republic Day.
- He is the first Indian track & field athlete to win an Olympic gold medal. In the Indian Army, Neeraj is a Subedar. In 2016, he enlisted in the 4 Rajputana Rifles as a direct entrance to Naib Subedar. He was selected to attend the Mission Olympics Wing and Army Sports Institute in Pune for training.
11. Ratan Tata received the ‘Asom Baibhav Award’ from the Assam government.
- On January 24, 2022, the Government of Assam bestowed the highest civilian accolade, the ‘Assam Baibhav,’ on industrialist Ratan Tata.
