1. The government of Karnataka has created a technology-driven programme called ‘Grama One.’
- The government of Karnataka has created ‘Grama One,’ a technology-driven programme. It would provide services to several government departments in 12 districts’ rural areas.
- By the end of March, the services would be available in all Karnataka districts. It allows you to use a variety of services provided by the departments of Agriculture, Horticulture, Revenue, and Women and Children Development.
2. The Ramgarh Vishdhari Wildlife Sanctuary is poised to become Rajasthan’s fourth tiger reserve.
- The Ramgarh Vishdhari Wildlife Sanctuary, one of the country’s proposed five tiger reserves, is scheduled to be formally recognised as a tiger reserve soon before the Global Tiger Summit in Vladivostok, Russia.
- During the 4th Asia ministerial conference on tiger conservation, the Centre also announced the news. Ramgarh Vishdhari Wildlife Sanctuary, along with MM Hills in Karnataka and Guru Ghasidas National Park in Chhattisgarh, have previously been granted tiger reserve status by the Centre.
3. Thrissur, Kerala, will host India’s first Graphene Innovation Centre.
- The Digital University Kerala (DUK) has announced a collaboration with the Centre for Materials for Electronics Technology (C-MET) in Thrissur, Kerala, to create India’s first Graphene Innovation Centre.
- The Ministry of Elections and Information Technology will also contribute Rs 86.41 crores to the project, which will be used to establish India’s first-ever Graphene Research and Development (R&D) incubator.

4. India has surpassed China as the world’s leading exporter of cucumbers and gherkins.
- During the months of April to October 2021, India became the world’s greatest exporter of cucumber and gherkins, exporting 1,23,846 metric tonnes of cucumber and gherkins worth USD 114 million.
- Pickling cucumber, often known as gherkins or cornichons, is an agricultural processed product that India has exported in excess of $200 million.
5. India and France have signed a Memorandum of Understanding in the field of health research.
- India and France have inked a Memorandum of Understanding in the field of health research, according to the Ministry of Science and Technology.
- The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) and the Institut Pasteur in France have signed a Memorandum of Understanding.

6. VRR auctions totaling Rs. 75,000 crores were held overnight by the RBI.
- The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) offered Rs 75,000 crore in overnight liquidity to the Indian banking sector against a bid of roughly Rs 1.37 lakh crore in a variable rate repo (VRR) auction under the liquidity Adjustment Facility (LAF), with the reverse date set for January 25, 2022.
- The auction will take place on the Core Banking Solutions (CBS) (e-Kuber) platform, with a minimum bid amount of Rs. 1 crore and allotments in multiples of Rs. 1 crore.
7. Lendingkart has teamed up with the Bank of Maharashtra to provide small business loans.
- The Bank of Maharashtra teamed up with Lendingkart Technologies Private Limited to co-lend low-interest business loans to micro, small, and medium-sized businesses (MSME).
- Lendingkart’s ‘2gthr’ technology platform allows banks and non-banking financial companies (NBFCs) to offer unsecured business loans to MSME borrowers of up to 10 lakhs. Co-lenders can also use the platform to validate loan applications utilising the ‘cred8’ cash-flow-based evaluation approach.

8. HPCL’s new chairman and managing director will be Pushp Kumar Joshi.
- Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL), the country’s third largest oil refining and fuel marketing corporation, has named Pushp Kumar Joshi as its new chairman and managing director.
- Joshi, who is currently HPCL’s Director of Human Resources, has been on the company’s board of directors for nearly a decade. He will succeed Mukesh Kumar Surana, who is set to retire on April 30.
9. Wipro’s Southeast Asia MD, Badrinath Srinivasan, has been appointed.
- Badrinath Srinivasan has been named Managing Director for Southeast Asia at Wipro Limited.
- He’ll concentrate on Wipro’s company growth, revenue expansion, client and influencer partnerships, talent development, and brand-building strategies.

10. The Joint Maritime Exercise Paschim Lehar was held by the Western Naval Command (XPL-22)
- The Indian Navy’s Western Naval Command held a joint maritime exercise called Paschim Lehar (XPL-2022) off the coast of India.
- The exercise lasted 20 days and was designed to improve inter-service synergy between the Indian Navy, Indian Air Force, Indian Army, and Indian Coast Guard.

12. Noted Milena Salvini, a Kathakali dancer, died.
- Padma Shri Milena Salvini, a patron of Kathakali, died. Salvini was a French national who was instrumental in popularising Kathakali, Kerela’s ancient dance form, in Western countries.
- The Government of India awarded her the Padma Shri in 2019 for her contributions to the world of performing arts.
