1. Kerala government establishes “COVID-19 death information site”
- The Kerala government has launched a “COVID-19 death information portal” in the state to keep track of the number of people who have died as a result of the virus.
- Both the general public and government agencies can use this platform. The public can use this portal to look up information about their relatives’ deaths.
2. Stalin, the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, has launched a “doorstep healthcare” programme.
- MK Stalin, the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, unveiled the DMK government’s flagship initiative, “Makkalai Thedi Maruthuvam,” which aims to bring healthcare to people’s homes.
- Through door-to-door check-ups, persons over 45 years old and those with disabilities will be screened. ‘Makkalai Thedi Maruthuvam’ will also detect non-communicable diseases that can cause unexpected deaths and have an influence on people’s quality of life.
International
3. The Indian Navy and the UAE Navy are participating in the bilateral exercise “Zayed Talwar 2021.”
- INS Kochi, with two integrated Sea King MK 42B helicopters deployed in the Persian Gulf, took part in the bilateral exercise ‘Zayed Talwar 2021′ with the UAE Navy off the coast of Abu Dhabi.
- UAES AL – Dhafra, a Baynunah class guided missile corvette, and one AS – 565B Panther helicopter took part in the exercise.

4. Dhanvarsha Finvest and the Central Bank of India have formed a strategic co-lending agreement.
- The Central Bank of India (CBoI) has engaged into a strategic co-lending agreement with Dhanvarsha Finvest Ltd (DFL) to provide loans against gold ornaments to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) borrowers at competitive rates under the priority sector.
- According to the public sector bank’s stock exchange filing, DFL would originate and handle loans against gold ornaments based on collaboratively developed credit standards and eligibility requirements, while CBoI will take 80 percent of the gold loans into its book under mutually agreed terms.
5. The Asian Development Bank has approved a USD 300 million loan for rural roads in Maharashtra.
- The Asian Development Bank said that it has granted a USD 300 million loan to help fund the Maharashtra Rural Connectivity Improvement Project, which involves improving rural roads and connecting remote areas to markets.
- The current project, which was approved in August 2019, has improved and maintained the quality and safety of 2,100 kilometres of rural roads in Maharashtra.
6. Karnataka Bank is designated by the Reserve Bank of India as a “agent bank” for government transactions.
- The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has appointed Karnataka Bank, a private lender based in Mangaluru, to act as a “agent bank” for government-related transactions.
- As an empanelled “agent bank,” Karnataka Bank is now authorised to conduct government business on behalf of the central and state governments, including revenue collecting and payments, government pension payments, stamp duty collection, and other tasks recommended by the RBI.
7. Exclusive credit to startups is signed by Indian Bank and IIMB’s incubation arm.
- Indian Bank and NSRCEL, the incubation arm of the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIMB), have signed an agreement to provide exclusive loans to entrepreneurs.
- According to the MOU, NSRCEL will identify startups and MSMEs based on their credentials and previous experience, and will suggest them to the bank for financial assistance.

8. BDL and UP have signed an agreement to establish a unit in the Defence Corridor.
- A Memorandum of Understanding has been inked between Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL) and the Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) for the establishment of a plant in the UP Defence Corridor.
- As part of its diversification and expansion strategy, BDL, a state-owned, mini-ratna Category-1 corporation based in Hyderabad, will establish a manufacturing unit in Jhansi. For the armed forces, the defence public sector firm manufactures missiles and undersea weapons.
9. Flipkart and IIM Sambalpur will collaborate to help small businesses and artisans.
- Flipkart, India’s largest e-commerce company, and IIM Sambalpur have launched a collaboration to develop and promote small companies, craftsmen, and weavers.
- The Indian Institute of Management Sambalpur and Flipkart will use their skills and knowledge to create an operational framework to empower underprivileged communities by helping them build capacity and expand their market reach, as announced on National Handloom Day.

10. Cabinet Secretary Rajiv Gauba Gets One-Year Extension According to a Ministry of Personnel directive, the government has granted Cabinet Secretary Rajiv Gauba a one-year extension.
- Gauba, who previously served as Union Home Secretary, was nominated to the country’s top bureaucratic office for a two-year term in 2019.
11. Actor John Abraham has been named as a brand ambassador for MotoGP by Eurosport India.
- Eurosport India, a sports channel owned by Discovery, announced that Bollywood actor John Abraham has been named as the brand ambassador for its flagship motorsport property, MotoGP.
- Abraham, a self-confessed motorbike fanatic and a die-hard MotoGP fan, will be seen promoting the sport in India in a campaign called “MotoGP, Race Lagate Hai.”
12. Mahendra Singh Dhoni is the first brand ambassador for HomeLane, a home interiors company. Mahendra Singh Dhoni has signed a three-year strategic agreement as an equity partner and brand ambassador with HomeLane.
- Dhoni will have a stake in HomeLane as part of the deal.

- Vijay Rupani, the Gujarat Chief Minister, has launched the eNagar mobile application and portal.
- Property tax, professional tax, water and drainage, complaints and grievance settlement, construction permit, fire and emergency services are among the 52 services covered by the eNagar.

16. Anupam Shyam, an actor, has died.
- Actor Anupam Shyam died of multiple organ failure at the age of 63 in Mumbai.
- The actor was well known for his roles in films such as Slumdog Millionaire and Bandit Queen, as well as his work on the TV show Mann Kee Awaaz: Pratigya.
17. Justice P Keshava Rao of the Telangana High Court has died.
- Justice P Keshava Rao, a judge of the Telangana state High Court, died this morning. He was 61 years old at the time.
- In September 2017, Justice Keshava Rao was appointed to the position of high court judge.
18. Noted P.S. Banarji, a sculptor and cartoonist from Kerala, has died.
- P.S. Banarji, a cartoonist, artist, and folk musician, died at the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital. He was 41 years old at the time.
- Banarji was known for his Ayyankali and Buddha sculptures at Venganur and Koduman, and was a recipient of the Lalithakala Akademi Fellowship.
