1. For Corona patients, the Haryana government has launched an Ayurvedic telemedicine service
- For Corona patients, the Haryana government has introduced an Ayurvedic telemedicine service. Anil Vij, the Minister of Health, said that any patient can contact Ayurvedic Doctors by dialing 1075.
- After testing the effectiveness of Ayurvedic medicines on Corona patients, the facility was opened.
2. Covid patients will be served by the Gujarat Unit of Ayurveda Vyaspeeth’s “Ayurvedic Doctors on Call” service
- To serve Covid patients in Gujarat, the Gujarat Unit of Ayurveda Vyaspeeth has launched an “Ayurvedic Doctors on Call” service.
- 170 Ayurvedic doctors will provide free Ayurvedic consultations to Covid patients over the phone as part of this programme.
3. LG Manoj Sinha approves another Rs 250 crore in interest subsidy for J&K
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir approved the further release of Rs 250 crore as Interest Subvention as part of an economic package for the revival of business and industry in J&K. As the third installment of the 5% Interest Subvention, the LG handed over a check for the same amount to J&K Bank.
The UT government had already released Rs 500 crore, and as part of the total package of Rs 1353 crore, another installment of Rs 250 crore was released as a 5% Interest Subvention.
4. Naveen Patnaik, the Chief Minister of Odisha, has declared journalists to be frontline Covid warriors
Working journalists in Odisha have been proclaimed frontline Covid warriors by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. The chief minister said that journalists are doing a great service to the state by providing a seamless news feed and making people aware of coronavirus-related issues while approving a proposal to that effect.
The state of Odisha has also declared a Rs 15 lakh ex gratia for the relatives of journalists who die of COVID-19 while on duty.
5. In Shimla, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur launches the COVID-19 ‘Mukhyamantri Sewa Sanklap Helpline 1100′.
In Shimla, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur launched a COVID-19 Helpline called ‘Mukhyamantri Sewa Sanklap Helpline 1100′ to assist people with COVID-related issues.
From 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., callers should dial the toll-free number 1100 for assistance with COVID-related issues.

6. Portugal has opened the world’s longest pedestrian bridge
In Portugal, the world’s longest pedestrian suspension bridge, dubbed “Arouca,” was inaugurated. The Arouca Bridge has a half-kilometer (almost 1,700-foot) metal walkway suspended from cables that run the length of its span. The Paiva River flows through a waterfall 175 metres (574 feet) below.
The bridge joins the banks of the Paiva River by steel cables strung between V-shaped concrete towers.
7. The United States has put India on a priority watch list, according to the USSTR special 301 report
- For IP security and compliance, the United States put India and eight other countries on the Priority Watch List.
- Argentina, Chile, China, Indonesia, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Ukraine, and Venezuela are among the other countries on the list.

8. India’s GDP growth rate is expected to be 9.5 percent in FY22, according to Fitch Solution.
- The Indian economy is expected to rise 9.5 percent in 2021-22, according to Fitch Solution (April 2021 to March 2022).
- The drop in real GDP is due to the economic harm caused by state-level lockdowns imposed in response to the sudden and steep increase in coronavirus cases.

9. According to OECD reports, global FDI fell to a 15-year low in 2020, with China surpassing the United States
- According to OECD data, global foreign direct investment flows fell to a 15-year low last year, and China, one of the few major economies to maintain growth, surpassed the United States as the top destination.
- According to the Paris-based Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development, global FDI flows fell 38 percent in 2020 to $846 billion, the lowest amount since 2005, as the coronavirus wreaked havoc on the global economy. This amounted to less than 1% of global GDP, the lowest level since 1999.
10. Credit Suisse has lowered its GDP estimate for FY22 to 8.5-9 percent.
- Credit Suisse has slashed its real GDP growth estimate for this fiscal year to about 8.5-9 percent, citing economic disturbances in the country caused by the raging second wave, which is expected to shave the economy by 100-150 basis points.
- The Swiss brokerage also predicted that the economy will take another two to three years to hit its potential growth rate after 2022-23.

11.N Rengasamy, the leader of the National Republican Congress, has been sworn in as the new chief minister of Puducherry.
- The Lt. Governor of Puducherry, Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan, swore Mr. N. Rangasamy in as the Chief Minister. He is the Union Territory’s twenty-second Chief Minister.
- Mr. Rangasamy is the Union Territory’s fourth Chief Minister.

12. The AICF has launched an initiative to help the chess community in its battle against terrorism.
- To assist the chess community affected by the pandemic, the All India Chess Federation launched the ‘Checkmate Covid Initiative.’ An online event was held to kick off the project.
- The AICF stated that the aim is to not only provide financial assistance to the chess community affected by COVID, but also to provide a team of doctors available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to provide the necessary care.
13. India is ranked second in the ICC T20 rankings, but drops to third in the ODI rankings after the annual update
- Following the annual update, India remained in the second position in the ICC Twenty20 team rankings but slipped a rung to third in the ODI rankings.
- In the T20 team rankings, India is five points behind top-ranked England (277). After series victories over the West Indies, Pakistan, Australia, and Bangladesh, New Zealand has moved up to third place in the annual T20I update. Australia has dropped from third place to fifth place.

18. Kalyanam, Mahatma Gandhi’s personal secretary, has died.
V Kalyanam, Mahatma Gandhi’s former personal assistant, died in Chennai from age-related ailments. He was 99 years old at the time.
He was a member of the Quit India movement and became Mahatma Gandhi’s secretary in 1943. He was one of the few people who witnessed MK Gandhi’s assassination in 1948.
19. Olympia Dukakis, the Oscar-winning actress from the film “Moonstruck,” has died
- Olympia Dukakis, an actress, died in New York City. She was 89 years old at the time.
- Olympia had earned an Academy Award nomination for her performance in Moonstruck. She has appeared in more than 60 films and 50 television shows
